Main Street USA, Magic Kingdom - parte 3 e última

Ta acabando, prometo!

Tenho mais três coisas para falar sobre a Main Street.

Como essa parte reproduz uma cidadezinha de antigamente, você pode encontrar os personagens da cidade passeando por lá. O prefeito ta sempre por ali e são vários personagens diferentes, como essas duas aqui, mas os que eu mais gosto são os cantores do quarteto "Dapper Dans". Parece que desde sempre estiveram lá, considerando a foto antiga que achei deles.

Nem sou tão fã de música assim, mas os Dapper Dans sempre prendem a minha atenção. As pessoas que trabalham com entretenimento na Disney são geralmente muito talentosas e com esse quarteto não é diferente. Eles fazem shows rápidos aparecendo a qualquer momento na região da Main Street e cantando músicas conhecidas à capela.

Não achei uma foto boa do grupo que eu ja vi algumas vezes no Magic Kingdom, que é formado por senhores de mais idade e muito simpáticos, mas tenho certeza que todos os membros são muito bons!

Dando sorte de ver o grupo se apresentando, vale parar uns minutinhos pra ouvir.

Outra coisa que eu queria falar é sobre as paradas que passam por ali.

Geralmente o Magic Kingdom tem uma parada às 15hs e outra à noite. Mas isso varia muito... De tempos em tempos eles mudam as paradas ou substituem temporariamente pelas paradas sazonais, com os temas da época do ano. (Como a "Mickey's once upon a Christmastime Parade", de Natal e a "Mickey's Boo to you", de Halloween) Não deixe de pegar um mapa e um "Times Guide" com a programação certinha do dia.

Atualmente acontece a "Celebrate a dream come true parade" na parte da tarde e a "Electrical Parade" à noite.

As paradas seguem a linha pontilhada do mapa, podendo começar ou terminar em qualquer ponta.

A melhor dica que eu posso dar para as paradas (principalmente para a da tarde) é procurar saber com algum "cast member" se ela começa ou termina na Frontierland. Se começar por ali, vale pegar um lugar com antecedência naquela região mesmo. Dessa forma, quando a parada acabar de passar por ali, a maioria dos visitantes ainda vai estar assistindo ao longo da Main Street e você pode aproveitar para pegar as atrações e os restaurantes menos lotados.



"Move it! Shake it! Celebrate it! Street Party"


Também tem a "Move it! Shake it! Celebrate it! Street Party", mas essa não é exatamente uma parada. Como o nome diz, é uma festa na rua, um show interativo, em que os visitantes têm a oportunidade de dançar com os personagens na Main Street. Mas para essa, o melhor lugar é no meio da pracinha em frente ao castelo, do lado do nosso próximo assunto.

Finalmente...

Criador e criatura - amigos!

No final da Main Street há uma espécie de pracinha e no meio dela foi colocada uma estátua do Walt Disney de mãos dadas com o Mickey. Eu sempre me emociono com ela, principalmente quando penso que ele não chegou a ver os parques de Orlando prontos.

Para entender a vastidão do significado dessa estátua, talvez seja necessário, no mínimo, voltar aí no final da viagem. Depois de se emocionar com as inúmeras atrações e shows...

Mas o melhor seria conhecer um pouco dos valores e objetivos que esse homem visionário e sonhador tinha. Para dar uma pequena ideia, algumas citações do "cara", porque pra mim, ele é "o cara"!

"If you can dream it, you can do it." (Se você pode sonhar, você pode fazer)

"Somehow I can't believe there are any heights that can't be scaled by a man who knows the secret of making dreams come true. This special secret, it seems to me, can be summarized in four C's. (De algum modo eu não consigo acreditar que existam alturas que não possam ser escaladas  por um homem que sabe o segredo de fazer sonhos. Este segredo especial, parece-me, pode ser resumido em quatro Cs. Eles são curiosidade, confiança, coragem e constância e o maior destes é a Confiança. Quando você acredita em uma coisa, acredite até o final, implícita e inquestionavelmente.)

"We believed in our idea - a family park where parents and children could have fun- together." (Nós acreditamos em nossa ideia - uma parque familiar, onde pais e crianças possam se divertir - juntos.)

"It (Disneyland) has that thing - the imagination, and the feeling of happy excitement- I knew when I was a kid." (Disneyland tem aquela coisa - a imaginação e o sentimento de excitação alegre que eu conhecia quando era criança.) 

"It's kind of fun to do the impossible." (É divertido fazer o impossível.)

It's almost over, I promise!

I have three more things to talk about Main Street.

Considering that this part of the park recriates an old small town, you can find the town characters walking around. The mayor is always around and there are many different characters, like those two, but the ones I like the most are the singers of the Barbershop quartet, the "Dapper Dans". It seems like they've always been there, judging by the old picture I found.

I'm not even a huge fan of music, but the Dapper Dans always catch my attention. The entertainers at Disney are usually very talented people and this quartet is no exception. They do quick performances and can show up at any time on the Main Street area, singing famous songs a capella.

I couldn't find a good picture of the specific group I've seen on a number of occasions at Magic Kingdom, which is formed by incredibly nice middle-aged men, but I'm pretty sure they are all very good!

If you're lucky enough to come across the quartet, stop and listen for a few minutes - it's absolutely worth it.

Another thing I wanted to mention is about the parades.

Magic Kingdom usually has a parade at 3pm and another one at night. But it varies a lot... From time to time they change the parades or replace them temporarily for the seasonal ones, according to the time of the year. (Like "Mickey's once upon a Christmastime parade" or "Mickey's Boo to you parade", for Halloween) Make sure to get a map and a times guide for the exact schedules.

Nowadays, Disney presents "Celebrate a dream come true parade" in the afternoon and the "Electrical Parade" at night.

The best tip I can give regarding the parades is to check with a cast member if it starts on Frontierland. If it does, get a position to watch it from there, at the beginning. That way, when the parade is over for you, most of the guests will still be watching it make its ways up Main Street and you'll get a chance to catch the restaurants and attractions while they're less crowded.

Move it! Shake it! Celebrate it! Street Party

There's also "Move it! Shake it! Celebrate it! Street Party", but that's not really a parade. Like the name says, it's supposed to be a party, where guests get the chance to interact with chacarters, dancing on Main Street. For that one, though, the best place to be is the central hub in front of the Castle, near our next topic!

Finally...

Creature and creator - Friends!

At the end of Main Street there's a hub with a statue of Walt Disney holding hands with Mickey. It always makes me emotional, especially when I remember that Walt didn't get a chance to see the parks in Orlando.

To really grasp the meaning of this statue, maybe it would be necessary at least to go back there at the end of your trip. After you've been touched by all the attractions and shows... But it would be even better to know a bit about the values and goals of this visionary man. To give you an idea, here are some quotes by "the man":
